Barabbas Da Rebel (Jordan Jacques) is originally from Texas, but calls Phoenix his home. Growing up in the church he was familiar with the gospel message, but now considers himself to have been a cultural Christian. As he grew older, sin became more prevalent in his life as he subjected himself to all the negativity that hip hop promoted.
In short, he found himself not only enjoying the lifestyle that was portrayed in worldly hip hop, but also promoting it as well. This lead to multiple police encounters, illegal weapon possession, and an imminent fear of death. Many times, he would doubt his salvation, and he feared God’s looming judgment as a consequence of his actions.
But the goodness of God lead him to repentance and faith in Jesus, as the same God he feared, saved him from the just punishment he deserved. He is now sure of his salvation and looks forward to being with the Lord. He currently serves at Roosevelt Community Church, and is passionate about reaching the urban domain God has placed him in.
